Can I see how many likes a comment has?

Yes. Each comment shows its likes on the network next to the person’s name. They’re checked when you open the thread and kept for a few minutes, so a busy thread doesn’t wait on Facebook or Instagram.

Direct messages have no likes, so none show there.
